Welcome!
I have now done 825 self-tape auditions since the beginning of Covid. Yup, that's right folks, 825 self-tapes since 3/13/20, no joke! Now, granted, 90-95% of those are from self-submissions on the acting websites, just me doing my job and daily hustle. For those of you who aren't in the biz, auditions used to be in-person, going into a casting office or onto a studio lot, signing in, sitting in the waiting room, seeing friends and peers, and then working with the casting director in the room on the scene. I used to come in prepared with a choice, ready to work, get notes and make adjustments through re-direction, and be able to show my range and ability to be directed and re-directed for pitching purposes.
Now, it's just me, in my living room, in front of my blue back-drop, under 2 big box lights, with a camera on a tripod, "guessing" what the directors, producers, and casting directors want from the material.

A little birthday poem... 🎂 ♓
I made it through another year young,
a successful trip around the sun.
And here I am for all to see,
no filter needed, just grateful me
Another 2/22 is a brand new start,
my life is blessed in head and heart.
I take nothing for granted, it all goes so fast,
been going down swinging, my life is a blast.
Still learning, growing, and wanting more,
grateful for #friends I love and adore.
The Pisces I am is reflective today,
sometimes I need to get out of my way.

So very grateful to chat with Canvas online Magazine. This new article focuses on my journey while I was modeling and seguing into acting.
I appreciate the opportunity to share my story and connect to the readers on various levels and inspiring others to pursue their dreams, in any genre.
On July 23rd, 2003, I packed up my entire life into 4 huge suitcases, shipped 16 boxes UPS, put my 2 kitties, Booboo and Caseybear in 1 carrier, and boarded Jet Blue at JFK and headed to LAX. Within 6 days of landing in Los Angeles, I found a job, bought a car, unpacked my boxes in my friend's apartment, and joined a gym. There were 2 humans, 1 dog, and 3 cats in a 1 bedroom apartment in North Hollywood in the San Fernando Valley. Boy 'o boy was that tough...
Over the past 20 years, I have done it all to keep a roof over my head while pursuing my acting and writing passions. I have waited tables, bar-tended, catered, worked for an event planner, been a nanny, a chef, a sous chef, a catering captain and manager, an event coordinator, an acting coach, a video editor, and a personal assistant. What a whirlwind... I never thought I was going to be in LA longer than I was in NYC, and now here I am, celebrating 20 years in Hollywood, amazing!
When I first moved out here, everyone I met, everywhere I went, told me it was going to take 10 years to acclimate, meet my friends, make connections, and figure out the lay of Lala Land, and so it came to pass... I took classes, everything under the sun: scene study, commercial techniques, improv, comedy, cold reading, et al, and even started doing weekend intensives with casting directors, but nothing clicked, and I wasn't auditioning.
What an incredibly humbling gift to have been asked to do my 3rd article with Shout-Out LA Magazine! My past 2 articles were so well read and popular, they wanted to share my story again for new readers.
I love chatting with their editors about my journey in Hollywood, and hope this inspires others to pursue their dreams, not matter what odds they face in life.

CONGRATS to my uber talented bestie on another AH-MAZE-ZING group of performances for "1776" in Hollywood, CA at the Ahmanson Theater in downtown LA. Every show was SOLD OUT and each performance ended with a well deserved standing ovation!

So thrilled for you Tiffani Barbour, I love you!
I had a truly fabulous time at the FYC for "Better Call Saul" Series Finale. Giancarlo Esposito and Bob Odenkirk could not have been lovelier and it was a fun panel discussion about the love for the craft and being seamless on set as a functioning symphony.
Everyone on this show, in front of and behind the camera, are at the top of their game, and I congratulate everyone on a very successful series, thanks for letting us all celebrate with you!
Michelle's "Reeling" in the newness...
I know it's been a cute little minute since I last sent out a newsletter, but I have been working on myself: inside and out, and also on numerous projects at home: personally and professionally. Now 3 years into this pandemic, I realize how much work I have actually done to overhaul my life in all aspects, and I am reflective and grateful for this time to do so. I have recreated my website from scratch, shot over 400 self-tape auditions, cut and edited 4 new reels, and cleaned out every cabinet, closet, drawer, and shelf in my house! Whew! It felt great to purge and donate all of the old, in order to clear space for new things, for the new year!
So today, on this powerful March New Moon, when the Sun and the Moon are perfectly aligned, signifying the start of a new lunar cycle and a new season, I welcome even more newness: new opportunities, new people, and new success in everything the Universe has in store for everyone reading this right now.
And with all of that being said, let's dive right into it...(READ MORE...NEWSLETTER)

I am humbled to have been asked to do another feature story on my journey and career for Voyage LA Magazine! I was honored last year to have been interviewed by their wonderful team, and my article had such incredible reception, the staff writers and editors decided to do a follow-up article in their "Conversations" section. I chatted with William Shatner at the Jack Webb Awards Gala for the Los Angeles Police Museum's annual fundraiser. During the welcome speech for the event, which Captain Kirk hosted, introducing all of the honorees, special guest, and celebs in the room, he mentioned my name towards the end and I was in shock that one of the most famous and iconic actors in Hollywood said my name!
So, I went to speak with him during dinner, and he invited me to sit down and we spoke for 15 minutes about life, Leonard Nimoy, Bill's new book, and it was all surreal. I had a wonderful time and was grateful to have met one of my childhood heroes!
Live long and prosper...

Every year, on NYE, I create a "Goal List" for myself to see what I can accomplish and mark off in the coming months, and I have been doing this for over 20 years. This year, 2 of my 2022 goals were accomplished at the same time! For years, I wanted to be in New York, on 2/22/22, because I knew it was too magical to do something ordinary, and I wanted to be in one of my favorite cities. I also always wanted to celebrate my birthday with Drew Barrymore, simply because I thought it would be fun to celebrate with someone born on the same exact day as me: talk about the ultimate Pisces Power!
Read more HERE...
I had the MOST AH-MAZE-ZING time in New York City for the taping of the 2/22/22 "Drew Barrymore Show!" Drew and I have the same birthday, and she was only inviting people born on 2/22 in for the show!
I was granted a VIP ticket on Saturday 1/29/22, and had to figure out a way to get to NYC for the in-person audience by 2/10, so I quickly created a Go Fund Me Campaign and within 48 hours raised enough money to book a plane ticket and hotel room for 1 week.
It was a wonderful and life changing trip and experience, and I am so grateful to have so many people supporting and encouraging my dreams and passions.
My episode of "The Drew Barrymore Show" airs Tuesday (Two-sday) 2/22/22. Check your local listings for time and channel, thanks for watching!
When I got home I realized I had taken 895 photos and needed to go through them and relive this incredible trip over and over again. And I also knew many of you would want to see all of these photos and hear about my trip as well, so...
I am sharing all of my adventures and photos of the places I went, the people I saw, and the historic landmarks I ate at, in my new Blog, "Manhattanin' Around...," and you can read more HERE.
Thank you for reading, let me know what you think of it.

I worked with Leonard Nimoy when I first moved out to LA. It was my first print booking, posing as a marble statue for his new Coffee Table Book. Most people don't know he got into acting to make money for his real passion of Photography. He told me he used his famous hand signal in his TV show, which he actually adapted from seeing the Rabbi in his Orthodox Temple in Brooklyn, blessing the congregation with the Hebrew Letter "Shim." He incorporated it into his character when he got older. He interviewed me 3 times, before I booked the job, and went to his house to meet his lovely wife, and was floored when I booked the chance to work with someone I grew up watching!! My father had turned my family into Trekkies, watching every Star Trek episode and movie ever made!!! I am so sad to hear of his passing this morning.
May Mr. Spock always and forever,
"LIVE LONG AND PROSPER!!!!"
RIP Leonard Nimoy xoxoxo
